Dr. Karie Gibson is a behavioral threat assessment and management expert, licensed clinical psychologist and former FBI leader with more than two decades of experience preventing terrorism and targeted violence. Her work spans insider risk mitigation, workplace violence prevention, crisis management and mental health consultation. She helps leaders evaluate concerning behavior and make informed decisions to protect their people and organizations.
Karie served as Unit Chief of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit-1, leading a 24-member team responsible for preventing and responding to terrorism and targeted violence. She directed the Behavioral Threat Assessment Center, providing operational support and advanced training to law enforcement partners nationally and internationally. Her experience includes criminal profiling, threat assessment and management, critical incident response and post-attack behavioral analysis.
Karie’s earlier career included leading psychological services for the U.S. Air Force and conducting court-ordered forensic evaluations. She has delivered training and presentations to more than 50,000 professionals worldwide across corporate security, government, law enforcement, healthcare and education. She brings clinical expertise and investigative judgment to complex situations involving employee concerns, threats against executives and organizational risk.
